On December 17th Kurt's sister, Brooke, got married in the Mt. Timp Temple. It was a beautiful sealing and a very cold day. Brooke looked so gorgeous and happy! I forgot to bring my camera to the temple, so the only pictures I have are from the luncheon and reception....
Congrats to Brooke and Collin! We are so excited to have him in the Family!

Back in the Day
So Today Kurt and I went to a Sealing that was in the Provo Temple....P.S its our 8 month anniversary, and it was so awesome to be be in the temple and to hear those wonderful words again! Oh how much I love my wonderful Husband!
Anyway.. back to this Post....Being in Provo brought back some old memories of the 4 years I lived there. So let me take you back in time to the summer of 2004. I graduated High School and moved to Provo with some Friends: Erin Parry Cahill, Ashley Hammack Butler, and Amanda Nelson Stromberg. We randomly moved in with Ashley Child Peterson and Jerilyn. We lived at good ole King Henry, it was probably the best BYU ward I lived in. I started Hair School in August and it was really hard for me to go to bed early on Friday nights cause I had to get up so early for Saturday class. My poor rommates because I could get cranky. There were good times and bad times. We all learned a lot about each other. It was also fun to have other High School friends in Provo. Kadee Leavitt Smith, McKenzie Christensen, Heather Harrington West, Celina Fajardo Tingey and Katie Simons Romo, and im sorry if I left out any other BHS girls. These were the days before I had a digital camera so I don't have to many pictures to Post.
The next fall Erin, Ashley, Ashley and I continued living together at King Henry, and Rachel randomly moved in with us. That year had its challenges for me.. I was trying to finishing school, my step dad had a massive heart attack and my dad's mom passed away unexpectedly. My testimony grew a lot that year! I was blessed to find a job right out of school, and to have great friends that loved and supported me! Erin left us at the end of that school year, she got married and moved to CA so her husband to go to Law School.
Year 3 it was Ashley, Ashley and Me. we decided to change it up a bit and we moved to University Ave Condos. It was a newer nicer place to live...we had a strange random roomie for half the year until she got married. Then Emily moved in and she was a breath of fresh air. Next Ashley Child moved out and got married, moved to Salt lake so her husband could go to Law School. Then came Jack, Ashley picked him up out side of Wal Mart, she saw Free Kittens and couldn't pass it up. He was a fun addition to the Apt.! That Spring I went through a hard breakup and Ash was so there for me! we had lots of fun adventures that summer: Hawaii, lake trips, bike rides, midnight road trips to Reno, Stadium of Fire and lots more!
The next fall Ashley moved in with some other friends and I moved in with some Hair school friends. We lived on Center St. in Provo above an antique shop. Hollie and Cic were great fun to live with and our loft had lots of old school charm. I ate at Smoke House and Sensuous Sandwich a lot. At the end of that summer Ashley got married and moved to AZ so she could go to Grad school. I decided to start a new adventure and move to Orange County, CA and work for Platinum. It was bitter sweet leaving Provo but it opened a whole new door for me! But we sure did have lots of fun good times! Girls I miss ya! Wish we could get together soon!

Fast trip to Vegas
A Few Weekends ago Kurt and I decided to take a last minute to my awesome home town of Las Vegas! I had been feeling very homesick that week, which is not common for me at all! I blame the Birth control. haha. Anyway...As soon as I got off work of Friday we jumped in the car and headed to Vegas! And we decided not to tell any of my family. So another reason we thought we would go visit my family was to see some babies, My brother John and his wife Cheryl were expecting Twins and was supposed to be induced that same day. By the time we hit St.George we hadn't heard any news so I texted my mom to find out what was going on. She told me that one of the babies had turned so her inducement was postponed. But we were still very EXCITED to see everyone! WE got into town around 7pm I called my mom to see where she was, of course she was at school working BUT she said she was going home soon. Well Kurt and I waited at the house for 2 hours, Silly lady :) She was pretty surprised to see us!
Saturday was nice to relax, we helped my mom shop at Costco, had lunch with Nick, went to and saw inception. After the movie we went to Olive Garden to see my Friends it was Kelli's birthday. It was fun seeing some old friends, and Kurt was a good sport while we talked girl talk and reminisced about high school. Later that night we meet my sister Molly on the strip(she just happened to be in town with a friend) we walked form the Fashion Show mall to the Bellagio. Along the way we saw the slutty pirate show at the TI. PS when did that show become so lame. Then saw the Volcano at the Mirage and finally made it to the Bellagio! We walked around the Atrium and saw the amazing pumpkins and fall flowers! Then we went and watched the water show, I always love the water show! By then I was pooped and just thinking about walking back to Fashion Show made me even more tired. but we made it :)
Sunday was Family day! we went to my parents ward and then had some lunch and took a nap. For dinner Richard BBQ'd some stakes that were so yummy and almost the whole family came over for dinner! We got to see John and Cheryl BTW she is the best and cutest pregnant girl ever, Audrey and her family came and I finally got to hold baby Katie who was born this summer while we were away, and she has the best hair! LOVE IT! it was Great to see everyone!
Monday morning we woke up early and started our drive back to Utah! I had to be at work by 3 so we were on a mission to get home. It was a fast trip but so worth it! thanks to my hubby for letting me see my family and making me feel better. Love ya babe.
PS. on the next day Cheryl was induced and Maverick and Broderick were born! Can't wait to meet them!

My 3rd Home....the Birds Nest
As many of you know Growing up I spent a lot of time Lake Havasu AZ. When my dad was in the Coast Guard he had to work there, and it just happened to be a good half way point in between Las Vegas(my moms) and El Centro(my dads). So in 1997 my family desided to just buy a house there because we were spending so much time there! My Grandma named it the Birds Nest..It was small 2 bed 1 bathroom, but it was right on the lake and had a huge deck! But if you can imagine 7 kids, parents and grandparents all in this house, let me just say there was never a dull moment! When we first got the house we had a Wave Runner, 2 stand up Jet skies and a old blue sparkly bass boat... I wish I had Pictures to show you! Well around 2000 my dad witnessed a bad Wave Runner/Boat Accident and my parents decided to sell everything and get a new big safe boat. I remember being disappointed at first, but after I realized all the fun stuff we could do: knee boarding, water skiing, wake boarding, tubing...and just relaxing soaking up the sun! Needless to say over the past 10 years our family has done lots of this!
A few weekends ago I was able to Take Kurt to enjoy some of these family traditions! It was a short trip, but we still had lots of fun in the sun. Yes it was 117 degrees but that's what you have the lake for :) so while we were there my Parents informed me that they were going to sell the boat!! WTF!! My dad wants to buy a fishing boat for Mexico. Now I was very saddened by this news, the house and boat have been such a big part of my life. Yes I understand we don't use it that much any more because all of the kids are grown and moved away. I guess I just all ways thought the house and everything would be there for my kids to enjoy...I guess we will just have to make a new family tradition of going fishing in Mexico..So Big White Boat I will Miss You!
Thank you to my Family for making Lake Havasu such a awesome childhood/adulthood Memory for me! love you all!

Our Story...
I caved in and made a Blog. I guess that's what happens when my husband leaves me to go back to school.
So here is our story:
In November Kurt started talking about where he would be working for the up coming summer, and thinking about dating long distance again was not fun! On December 3rd Kurt proposed after a awesome dinner at the Melting Pot. He put the ring on the stem of one of the roses on our table and I didn't even notice until like 15 min later! After dinner we took a carage ride around down town Salt Lake and looked at all the Christmas lights. It was like 8 degrees that night but I didn't even care I was so excited and happy!
So here is our story:
Kurt and I met at the beging of December 2008, we were on a Company cruise for Platinum Protection. Some mutual friends introduced us, at first sight I thought his eyes were the most beautiful things I had ever seen! At first I didn't think he was interested in me but I wouldn't leave him alone. We spent the last 2 1/2 days of the cruise playing ping pong, phase 10, mini golfing, and talking till 5 am.

on the cruise-we just lost to another team |
After the cruise Kurt went back to Utah county where he was living and going to school, and I went back to Las Vegas where I was living and working. At first we talked a few times a week then we started talking every night for hours at a time. By February of 09 we were dating long distance, I would go to UT for the weekend and vice verse.
At the End of April Kurt moved to Seattle for work, but we were determined to make it work! I flew up and visited him 3 times, we had so much fun going to baseball, soccer games hiking and to a air show.
When the summer was over we decided that one of us had to move, and that person was me sense Kurt was in school.
So in September I packed up my stuff and moved to UT and my good friend Casey said I could stay with her till I found a place to live. Well it took me till October to find a job, that was such a trial for me Ive always had a easy time finding a job. Kurt was so supportive through the hole thing and I just fell more in love with him! Life was going good I was working and I got to see Kurt almost every day, we lived 30 min away from each other but that was nothing for us.In November Kurt started talking about where he would be working for the up coming summer, and thinking about dating long distance again was not fun!
So remember my BFF Casey that I was living with well she is such a good friend she told me stay and live with her the next few months cause it was silly for me to find a place to live just for a few months! Boy do I love her and her husband for blessing me with a inexpensive place to live!

thanks Casey aka Pook |
On March 19th 2010 Kurt and I were Sealed in the Las Vegas Temple. That was the most amazing day of my life, to think I get to spend eternity with this man was such a great feeling. I'm so thankful every day that we met on that cruise ship!!
At the end of April we moved to San Diego for Kurts job, It was so great we loved our apt. and my sister Molly was only 20 min away and my dad and maria were only a hour and half away.
while in SD we went to USS Midway |
Our time was short lived, in June Platinum moved our office to Portland. Now I wasn't so excited to leave my family and all the awesomeness of our apt. But I tried to be supportive and I ended up liking it here. It is so green and beautiful here! We have seen some amazing nature areas and had family come and visit so we wouldn't get home sick. I will do another post on Portland casue I'm tired and its a lot to show...well I hope you love our story as much as I do!
