A few weekends ago we went camping in Moab with Kurt's family, well some of us camped...his parents, Crystal, and Kim stayed in a hotel. I had to work Friday morning, so I drove down with Kurt's brothers Cory and Mark. Everyone else were already there waiting for us. We got there just in time for Dutch oven lasagna! Thank you Collin, it was yummy!
Now I have to say...I LoVe camping but not when its CoLd, and that first night it was so cold! We guessed it was 15 degrees, there was frost on the red dirt when we woke up. I think I slept a total of 4 hours that night. Saturday was very nice weather, the sun was out and shinning. It got a little windy later in the day but not to bad. We decided to go mountain biking at Slick Rock; it was my second time and I enjoyed it much more this time.
Then we went to Arches National Park and did some hiking, we didn't stay long because it was close to dinner time. Kurt's mom made an amazing roast and veggies in the Dutch oven. After dinner we went to the hotel and soaked in the hot tub. I made sure to get nice and cooked so that I would stay warm all night long! and it worked, I slept much better that night.
Sunday morning Kurt and I were in charge of breakfast, so we made some yummy breakfast burritos! Then we returned to Arches and hiked Double O Arch. That was probably the funnest hike I've been on in a long time! On our way to Double O we saw Landscape Arch and Wall arch. Well we actually saw fallen Wall arch, a few years ago it fell down. You are climbing up rocks and see the most amazing views.
After hiking we went back to camp had lunch/dinner and packed up camp. Then we headed home...it was a fast trip but some much needed fun!
ive never been to moab...looks like fun though :)
